The Last of Us Part II Rumored to Release on PC

The Last of Us Part II Rumored to Release on PC

A recent report suggests that The Last of Us Part II, the highly anticipated sequel to the original game, will also be making its way to PC. The rumor, coming from Dealabs’ Billbil-kun, who has a track record of accurately reporting on PlayStation PC ports, claims that development on the PC port was completed late last year. However, despite this completion, fans may have to wait until 2025 for the official release date.

It is speculated that the PC version of The Last of Us Part II may be based on the remastered version of the game that was released on PS5. The original game, The Last of Us Part I, made its way to PC last year, six months after its remastered release on PS5. The remaster included improvements in gameplay elements, AI, visuals, and added new modes for players to enjoy.

The gap between the original release of The Last of Us Part II and its remastered version was noticeably shorter, suggesting that the visual improvements and enhancements may not be as significant. The remastered version of the game was released on PS5 earlier this year, leading to speculation that the delay in the PC release could be to allow the console version to have its moment before reaching other platforms.

Billbil-kun hinted that The Last of Us Part II’s PC release may coincide with the second season of the live-action HBO adaptation of the game, which is set to delve into the sequel’s intense storyline. Despite the rumors and hints, there has been no official confirmation from Sony regarding the PC release of The Last of Us Part II. With the absence of the game in their latest State of Play showcase, fans will have to wait patiently for any updates.

As more PlayStation exclusives make their way to PC, it seems inevitable that The Last of Us Part II will follow suit at some point. When the game does make its way to PC, players may need to sign in with a PlayStation account. For now, fans of the game will have to continue to wait for any official announcements from Sony regarding the highly anticipated PC release of The Last of Us Part II.
